Andile Gumbi (born September 10, 1983 – died October 25, 2019) was a South African Actor, Singer, Dancer, Model, and Social Media Personality from Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. He was best known for his appearance in the television series “IsiBaya”.

The show aired on the Mzansi Magic network. The late actor played one of the recurring roles of Zweli Ntshangase alongside actors like Zinhle Mabena, Sibusisiwe Jili, Jeffrey Sekele, etc.

His appearance as an adult Simba in the Disney long-running stage play called “The Lion King” is also appreciated by audiences a lot. In 2015, Gumbi acted in “The Book of Negroes” (CBC six-part miniseries).

Death Cause, Cardiac Arrest & Details

On October 25, 2019, Andile’s family confirmed that he passed away at the young age of 36 in Israel, as per Wikipedia. The main cause of his death was cardiac arrest. In fact, the artist also remained in a coma for several days before his demise.

The news about the Andile Gumbi’s death was first published by the Mzansi Magic. They confirmed his passing from the actors’ wife. Moreover, the family requested space from the fan so that they can deal with their huge loss.

The incident took place on the 22nd of October 2019 when Gumbi suddenly fell ill and rushed to a local hospital named “Shaare Zedek Medical Center” in Israel. Later, the doctors told his spouse that he was in a critical condition as he suffered cardiac arrest.

He died in the early hours of Friday morning. According to a source, the actor was in the country for his show “Daniel The Musical”. He was survived by his partner and their son.
