Esther Duflo (born October 25, 1972) is an American-French Economist from Paris, French. She is the Professor in the Poverty Alleviation and Applied Economics Department at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Furthermore, she is also the Co-Director and Co-Founder of Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (2003). Duflo got the Nobel Prize Economics Sciences (2019) and shared it with Michael Kremer and Abhijit Banerjee.
She is in the Bureau of Research and Economic Analysis Development (BREAD) as a Broad Member. Her research revolves around the microeconomic policies of the underdeveloped nations. It also includes policy evaluation, education, healthcare, and household.
